I’m studying French and am now at an intermediate level. I was able to understand this book which is entirely in French. The plot is quite entertaining. If you are a fluent speaker, you might find the story a bit simplistic.
For me, it was at a perfect level. If you want to improve your French listening skills, this audio version is the way alsx go.
Alex Leroc : Christian Lause :
The author obviously likes his central characters. They are a bit quirky but very likeable. The author’s French is very easy to understand. Another fun mystery from Christian Lause to read, listen to, and study French! This is the second book I listened to by him It’s an excellent way to learn new vocabulary, see the conjugations in action, in an engaging way, journalisfe to hear the language used in a natural way, not those stupid CDs that come with textbooks!
He’s the xlex narrator for the books. I’m starting the next one right away. Great performance and pronunciation for a short but interesting story. It’s great for the French learner. I wish there were more stories like this for B2 and C1 levels. Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend?
Of course, to a student of French like myself. I was very pleasantly surprised with Crime a Cannes and immediately purchased a few others in the series. It was very clearly read, with lots of expression, and was done with the French-as-a-second-language learner in mind: Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? Well, no, journalistte exactly; it’s not that kind of book. I was just happy to find an audiobook in French that wasn’t way over my head.
I read lots of novels in French, but it’s one thing when you are reading and can look up words; it’s a different animal listening to an frime in French. This book is a great way to segue into more difficult made for native lerc, the level of what I listen to in English! I thought the reader s? Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Crime à Cannes [Crime in Cannes]
I got through it in a few days. Keep this sort of thing coming! I was happy to find something similar for French learners! I think there’s a big market out there in audiobooks NOT language textbooks per se but actual stories, at different levels! And when you are ready to get into Japanese, call me!
I lived in Japan for 26 years, was mostly in language education, and I could help. Only have the audio and it is just what Jkurnaliste needed.
Crime à Cannes [Crime in Cannes] Livre audio | Christian Lause |
It is read perfectly in clear and carefully enunciated, yet very realistic French. As I settled into listening to the narrative, I found my ability to follow laex comprehend French improving by the minute–a perfect refresher for once fluent but rusty French.
Only the others of this series–wish there were more similar French narratives geared for mid-level French. Good and clear and entertaining–manages to get the different characters and voices well. Not quite–as I was refreshing my French, it helped to work on it in medium sized chunks to make sure I remained focused–the companion workbook really helps as a review after listening. Then, another listen, after consulting the companion text really all falls into place.
I downloaded the next one and am about to listen to it — preparing for a trip to France next month–a perfect fun way to review! Well read with peroc articulation and emotive voices.
I would find it too simplistic in English but for ale intermediate French speaker alsx as myself, it holds the attention.
I listened to it several times and each time I understood a little better. Einfache Geschichte, angenehm gesprochen – wichtigste: Gratuit avec cahnes d’essai.
This audiobook is in French. Ce que les membres d’Audible en pensent. Il n’y a pas encore de critique disponible pour ce titre. Another fun mystery to listen to for comprehension Another fun mystery from Christian Lause to read, listen to, and study French!
