I thought the opening was really good, with the introduction of some interesting characters. So yes, the book is really good and after about pages I hardly had to look up who was who fotfall it down to age so enjoyed it even more, I feel some of the loose ends could’ve been tied up more, hence if I could I would give it 4.

And the importance of science fiction writers to the war effort? I share the view of many reviewers that Footfall is certainly not as good as Lucifer’s Hammer. The Fithp are are a subtle and well-conceived creation–both endearing and repellent.

Recommended for any science fiction fan. But none of that detracts from the sheer, carry-you-along readability of the story. But I regretted it.
