I kafl learning that Greek religion was more complicated than I imagined, and included rituals and festivals; the important festival of Dionysus of the new wine was celebrated in part by male citizens each sitting down and drinking an enormous amount of wine; women citizens stayed home in groups doing Dionysus only knows what to celebrate.
